We have a team of over 20 volunteer counsellors who have received specialist training in complex grief and traumatic loss. They bring valuable experience to our service and many are also employed in counselling positions within schools, drug and alcohol services or other counselling practices. Our volunteer supervisors provide clinical supervision for our counsellors ensuring safe practice.
We have a Service Manager who is our first point of contact and is based at our offices in Langage, Plymouth. Our Clinical Director is also based at our office two days per week.
We are very lucky to have an excellent team of Board Members who are also volunteers. Members of the Board come from a diverse mixture of experience, including a Clinical Psychologist, Counsellors, and those with Business, Management and Legal experience and all have a particular interest in helping in the work of the BCS. Their role involves monitoring and developing all the clinical aspects of the BCS and the strategic development of our service, financial planning and overseeing the legal obligations of our service.
Our Friends team is a group of enthusiastic volunteers who work very hard to raise additional money for our service. As we are only part-funded by the Clinical Commissioning Group, we could not run our service without them. Please see the Friends Page for more information.
